According to numerous sources as well as our personal business experience, investors still have a hardy appetite for investing. The tastebuds have just changed a bit. We are finding that buyers are being lured by recreational properties and “good deals”. They appear to be more cautious and even more educated, as the stock market has left its mark of fear, but the high class properties are still attracting quality investors. The waterfront tracts, hunting preserves, and large timber parcels are simply selling themselves.
As land experts, we are thrilled to see buyers planting there time and money into something that lasts. As long as investors still have an appetite, we will continue to put food on the table. We are able to do so because top-notch properties seem to be coming available, enabling us to offer so much more. One prime piece that is now available is the Savannah River Preserve in GA. This is a perfect example of an upper class recreational property and we are seeing that investors are drooling over it. In the last couple of weeks, we have shown the 963 acre Turn-Key Plantation time after time and continue to have numerous calls daily. This tract has all the amenities, extras, and is screaming “good deal” since it is Bank Owned. As numerous investors have already figured out, this property could not only be a nice ‘retreat’ but also a money-maker. It’s endless possibilities attract buyers as they see the vision of making it a personal getaway or using it to generate income with camps and/or organized hunts.
These new trends show that buyers will invest even during a meek market. It has just become more evident that the “flavor” of investing has changed with the economy. From forestland to farmland, waterfront to conservation, to turn-key hunting preserves, we have superior properties listed and are ready to sell to those looking to invest. It’s simple; now is the time to buy and the deals are available. There’s nowhere to go but “up”, so remember, invest in what lasts.
Owners of such land should make a good proposal to future investors for contract with them.
