The President and CEO of The Carter Group Land Company indicates Values are still strong in Southeast Coastal Georgia.

Remember that scene from Gone with the Wind when Gerald O’Hara (Scarlett’s father) says, “Do you mean to tell me, Katie Scarlett O’Hara, that Tara, that land doesn’t mean anything to you? Why, land is the only thing in the world worth workin’ for… because it’s the only thing that lasts.”

These days those words ring truer than ever. Land is a real asset that doesn’t evaporate in the fall of Wall Street. We have recently heard from many of our clients who have lost 35% to 60% of their Stocks and wished they would have purchased land instead. Land is a solid investment that can be handed down through generations. And now is an excellent time to buy, according to Ryker Carter, president of the Carter Group in Jesup, Ga. Ryker has been buying and selling properties in Georgia since the 1990s.

“It’s not rocket science,” he said. “The trick is to find land priced right and destined to grow in value.”

He feels that Southeast Georgia areas are showing outstanding promises for several reasons. Zoning regulations along Georgia coast limit the amount of buildable land which makes the outlying land that much more valuable. And buying here means you’re acquiring acreage within easy reach of the beach resorts, yet inland enough to be protected from most coastal storms.

And speaking of the weather, the area’s mild year-round climate is a big draw for Northerners ready to say good-bye to freezing winters, as well as for South Floridians who appreciate warm temperatures but are tired of the traffic, crowds and rising cost of living in South Florida.

Ryker points out that, despite its closeness to Interstate 95 and nearby famous resorts like Jekyll Island and Amelia Island, the Southeast Georgia region is still largely undiscovered, which means you can find some amazing land deals.

At the Carter Group’s Web site, cartergroupland. com, visitors can use a convenient Quick Find feature to click through properties from 1 to more than 1,000 acres, with literally something for everyone.

Individuals can browse waterfront and large wooded home sites. Developers can check out acres of prime development property. Investors can view photos of available timberland. Hunters and campers can find recreational land, perfect in every season.

Because Ryker is the owner as well as the seller, you can buy directly from them and have a good solid investment!
